Experience Seville

Seville, capital of the province of the same name and of Andalusia, is a fascinating city located on the left bank of the Guadalquivir, a navigable river from its mouth at Sanlúcar de Barrameda to Seville, the only Spanish seaport located in an inland city.

With a rich cultural and monumental heritage, the city is full of surprising places to visit.

Discover the city’s most emblematic monuments, starting with Seville Cathedral and the Royal Alcázar. The Giralda is another of Seville’s landmarks, a 12th-century Moorish tower transformed into a Christian bell tower. Other must-sees include the Archivo de Indias, the Torre del Oro and the Plaza de España, where it is impossible not to be moved on first sight.

Seville is a lively and colourful city, especially in spring, when the two most important festivals of the year take place: Holy Week, with its traditional processions, and the Feria de Abril, an extraordinary display of the city’s most authentic folklore.

There is no better place in all of Spain to enjoy flamenco than Seville. The city has many flamenco tablaos, such as El Arenal and Los Gallos, where you can enjoy a show accompanied by a glass of fine wine.

The neighborhood of Santa Cruz and Triana are some of the best areas for tapas. In places such as La Blanca Paloma, Casa Ruperto or Las Golondrinas you can try some of the most traditional recipes such as gazpacho, Andalusian stew or fried fish, not forgetting the orange wine served in La Goleta.
